GOVERNMENT JOB SEARCH AND INFORMATION ASSISTANCE

Center for Occupational Employment Information - COEI - is a state agency dedicated to meeting the occupational and career information needs of vocational education, and employment and training program managers and policy makers, and the career development needs of youth and adults.
One Stop Career Centers - Located throughout New Jersey, One-Stop Career Centers offer services (free of charge) to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in a 21st century work environment. The centers are staffed with qualified professionals who can assist with obtaining employment or the training you need to meet the demands of our present workforce.
NJ State Employment and Training Commission - SETC - supplies information about the Commission which is comprised of representatives from business, labor, private citizens, community-based organizations, elected officials and Commissioners from several state agencies. The SETC works to improve the skills of New Jersey's workforce by creating a cohesive statewide system of employment and training programs and services.
Unemployment Insurance Reemployment Call Centers - is the site to find out where to file a claim for unemployment insurance benefits online.
New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development - contains information about NJ Department of Labor services, events, employer information, press releases and a directory of Department staff.
New Jersey Workforce Investment Boards (WIB) - links the user to the local area WIB. Workforce Boards in each county create local workforce development systems through one-stop career centers which combine multiple federal, state, and local program funds. The policy and oversight responsibility invested in Workforce Boards aims to ensure that this system is market-driven; is easily accessible to any individual who wants or needs a job, education, or training; supplies well-trained people for all employers; and provides employers with assistance and support for life-long learning initiatives and for the creation of a high-performance workforce. Licensed Occupations Information - Licensing or Certification is required to insure that only qualified individuals work in certain occupations that affect the health and safety of the public in the State of New Jersey.

CHOOSING A CAREER

Career Assistance Navigator (NJCAN) - provides users computer-based way to explore career options and opportunities. The system contains information about hundreds of occupations, related educational and job training programs, and other useful facts and guidance for career decision makers.
Career and Skill Evaluations - facilitates users' exploration of possible careers through its links to a variety of career and skills evaluation resources.
New Jersey Labor Market Information - provides demographic data, economic & demographic projections, help, press releases, worker safety statistics, publication order forms, economic data, and other labor program data.
Training Programs for Demand Occupations - is designed to assist counselors and clients seeking skills training in making appropriate training decisions.
New Jersey Next Stop  - is a state site sponsored to help NJ teens, parents, and counselors learn more about career interests, career options, and the world of work.  It also provides information about industries, occupations and skills that are in demand in New Jersey.   
O*NET - an easy-to-use database accessible from any web browser. It contains comprehensive information on job requirements and worker competencies. O*NET replaces the Dictionary of Occupational Titles and offers a more dynamic framework for exploring the world of work. With O*NET, employers of all sizes and across all fields have a powerful means for accessing critical information that impacts their bottom-line every day.
America's Career Information Network - accesses national and state-level occupational and economic trends data compiled by the Career Resource Network(CRN)agency in each state. Both job seekers and employers can use this service to find out about job market and employment trends such as what occupations are growing or shrinking, average wages and salaries paid by type of occupation, or what kind of training is needed to qualify for various jobs.

New Jersey's Public Vocational & Technical Schools - a searchable database of public vocational occupational training.
New Jersey's Colleges - offers a directory of all institutions of higher learning in New Jersey as well as a link to New Jersey Virtual University, a consortium of online learning providers.

PAYING FOR TRAINING

Scholarships, Loans and Financial Aid - links to the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, which provides financial and informational resources for students to pursue their education beyond high school.

Childcare Information - provides a link to the list of licensed childcare centers in New Jersey.
Transportation Information - contains NJ Transit information, bus and train schedules, and commuter and carpooling resources for workers throughout New Jersey.

FINDING A JOB

Jobs4Jersey - New Jersey's one-stop resource for job seekers. It starts by helping to build a complete, detailed resume that includes the skills and experience that employers are looking for.They can also upload or paste an already written resume into the website's database. It then links the job seeker to matching job postings available on the Internet.

US Government Jobs - The federal Government's official one-stop source for Federal jobs and employment information. This website is maintained by the United States Office of Personnel Management.

National Business and Disability Council- a resource for corporations hiring and marketing to people with disabilities. Employment opportunities focus on college graduates for Fortune 1000 companies. Job seekers can post their resume and do a job search. The virtual career fair is an additional feature where candidates can post their resume.

Monster Board - This private site offers an overview of employers and several interfaces for job hunting. Users can search by company, location, industry, or job title. 

The Ladders -  A private site that offers resources such as career advice, resume writing guides, job scam information, and interviewing tips as well as a job search engine for professionals looking to obtain 100k+ jobs.
